MEET OUR EXPERT

Our resident beauty expert and chief fun officer is Melana Ligertwood, an aesthetician and makeup artist for over 20 years. After completing beauty training, Melana set off traveling, working at spa resorts in places like Whistler, Montreal, and Scotland. Settling in Texas 14 years ago, Melana lives with her husband, four children, and two cats.

Like many of our guests she has three daughters, including a 'tweenage' daughter who loves cosmetics! Witnessing first-hand the overwhelming amount of beauty products, Instagram trends, and influencer videos that teens today are exposed to became the inspiration for Sparkle & Bloom. Melana saw parents struggling to navigate this evolving landscape, trying to understand how to weed out the 'good' from the 'bad', all the while determining the best choices for their own skin. Sparkle & Bloom emerged from a desire to educate girls and women of all ages about skincare and makeup, and have a lot of fun doing it!!
